Baby's Breath Bouquet

We recently spent some time and coin at a local nursery. It had so many unusual plant that we were almost giddy. Strangely enough we came home with a baby's breath plant. It was on special and I was struck by the fact that I knew the flowers well but had never really thought about what the actual plant looks like. It is long and lanky and the bunches of flowers are a little bit trailing. Now I do like trailing plants. I am always planting vines everywhere I live like a little legacy for the next person who comes along to occupy the space. But baby's breath has  always been just that filler plant that you get too much of in bouquets. Not my favorite. However it occurred to me that the tiny little bursts of white by themselves are rather lovely. I bunched them all together and they look like a little fluffy cloud.

I heart my iPad

This is a great tool for a mom to have. It is lightweight, easy to use, and I can keep all sorts of things on it. Not that I'm so organized, but it definitely keeps me entertained.

Testing, one two

How to start blogging.  I guess I need to decide what my blog is going to be about.  Art, yes.  My life as an artist.  My creative endeavors.  I must say that the task seems fun and does it really matter if anyone is listening? I'll just assume no one is for now.
Now for some fun with paper...
This drawing is the first one I did with the paper app for iPad. Not bad, although it could use a little more advance planning. I love getting to know this new way of drawing. It is tactile in a different way and not quite as precise as using a traditional pen and paper, but I have always been the sort of artist that enjoys working within set parameters. So I am enjoying the challenge!
